Our Story

Our story began in 1974 with the first Red Barn Arts & Crafts Festival. Our organization has been a cornerstone of the local arts community for more than five decades. Over those five decades, K.A.A. has grown into a vibrant nonprofit arts organization dedicated to celebrating, fostering, and sharing the arts.

We are a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, partially funded by the Missouri Arts Council, and supported by artists, volunteers, partners, and members who believe in the power of creativity to connect and inspire.

Over the years, our programming has expanded to include a variety of events and opportunities such as the free concert series Summer on the Square, exhibitions, workshops, and Invitation to the Arts, creating spaces where artists and audiences can learn, share, and engage with one another. Through these programs, we strive to make the arts accessible, inclusive, and deeply rooted in community.

Guided by our mission to celebrate, foster, and share the arts, we continue to support creative expression and cultural enrichment for people of all ages. Whether through festivals, education, or exhibitions, we remain committed to nurturing artistic voices and keeping the arts a vital part of community life.
