The History of Red Barn

What began as a small craft show—held, fittingly, in a red barn—has grown into the Red Barn Arts & Crafts Festival, a premier outdoor arts event with more than fifty years of history. Each year, visitors gather in historic Downtown Kirksville, Missouri to celebrate outstanding artists and crafters, local food, and live entertainment.

Held alongside Truman State University Family Day, the festival welcomes thousands of visitors from across the country and features a curated selection of respected Midwest artists.

In addition to exhibitor booths, the event includes live performances in the Entertainment Corner and hands-on creative activities for children in the Kids Corner.

The festival’s success is made possible through the generous support of our event sponsors, whose partnership helps sustain the arts and keep this beloved community tradition accessible to all.
